The Flume is part of Franconia Notch State Park. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. This is also where you board the shuttle to the trailhead. In the off season, the park is typically not staffed, comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed. Rent a well maintained, light mountain full suspension or front suspension mountain bike at the bike shop behind Tunnel Creek Café in Incline Village. The Flume is staffed and open Memorial Day through the end of October. Reservations include a fee for visiting the park.Please note that pets are not permitted on the trails at The Flume and are only permitted in designated dog walk areas off of the parking lot.Please visit NH State Park's Flume website for detailed information on park policies and the natural history of The Flume. There is also a short loop nature trail that starts from the south side of the Flume Parking Lot. Please plan ahead as the Flume Gorge frequently sells out, especially on weekends. Visitors who do not have a reservation when the Flume is sold out will be turned away. Tickets can either be printed at home or displayed on a mobile device for scanning. Throughout the trail, there are boardwalks and stairs that may be slippery when wet.īook your trip to Flume Gorge: Visitors should make a reservation before arriving at the park. Start and end the trail at the check-in booths at the Visitor Center. Currently the Flume Trail is a one-way, 2-mile loop trail that takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. The Flume is a natural 800 foot gorge carved into Conway granite with multiple waterfalls and natural attractions.
