Version: 24.2.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice CommunityĬPU threads: 16 OS: Linux 6. I bet I misunderstand these settings, so thank you for your helpĮDIT and somewhat TLDR: Why isn’t the dark document background (GUI is dark) applied when the system switches to a dark theme. Is there a way to switch the icons with dark/light theme? I would like to use Breeze icons and it would be helpful if they switched to their dark/light versions as well. I installed LibreOffice 6 Flatpak and it does not automatically inherit my Ubuntu 16.04 dark theme. If that’s true, why is the dark background color not applied? I installed LibreOffice 6 Snap and it automatically inherited my Ubuntu 16.04 dark theme. My current understanding is, that when the system sets the theme to dark, LO follows it and selects “Dark” under “Automatic”. When I selected the Dark option under “Automatic” I can see that, e.g., the document background is set to black. Under Options>LibreOffice>Applications Colors I chose “Scheme” “automatic” and for “Automatic” “System theme”. Some people believe that it makes the texts. It is less stressing on the eyes specially for extended use of the screen.
Dark theme is getting popular even among non-programmers. If you’re not making the most of it, the LibreOffice Tips article is a must-read. With the dark theme, I want to have inverted colors (or “dark” colors) in the documents, and I struggle to set it up correctly. LibreOffice is a free and open-source cross-platform office productivity software. Try clicking Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Advanced and click the box Enable experimental features (may be unstable) and restart LibreOffice. Under Options>LibreOffice>view I set the mode to System. I don’t have 7.4.3.2 any more due to space reasons but I could get the Windows dark theme previously. Google even provides a helpful collection of editor-selected dark themes.
To give Chrome a dark interface, all you have to do is install a dark theme. I have tried setting it to Breeze (light), going through customization and tweaking different settings but all it seems to do is change the toolbar, not the entire app suite. Chrome supports user-created themes, which you can download from the Chrome Web Store. My machine switches my GTK3 theme between light and dark regularly, and LibreOffice follows the decision for the GUI, which is wonderful. I can not work with it being so dark and much prefer LibreOffice being in the normal light theme.
